What Causes Yeast Infection

At least once in a woman’s life there is the possibility that she will have to find a way of treating the symptoms caused by a yeast infection. However, if a woman doesn’t know what causes yeast infection then finding an effective treatment can prove extremely difficult indeed. Plus they may find themselves using remedies that will only treat the symptoms instead of the actual cause. As a result this means that there is a far greater chance of the infection reoccurring and being far more painful than the first time it happened.

Once one knows exactly what is the cause of your yeast infection then you can look for remedies that can help to treat, cure and prevent the problem recurring in the future. So let us take a look at some of the things that can lead to a yeast infection occurring.

Cause 1 – Antibiotics and Drugs

Within these items there are properties that help to create an environment within the body that the yeast fungus Candida Albicans finds conducive to its growth. Certainly for women who have been taking birth control pills for any period of time they find there is a much increased chance of them suffering from such an infection compared to those women who don’t.

Cause 2 – Tight Fitting & Man Made Clothing

These types of clothing actually prevent air from circulating around the body properly and as a result cause us to sweat considerably more. This in turn helps to create an environment in the body that will cause yeast to grow much more quickly. In fact researchers have found that it is the moist areas of the body is where most infections are likely to occur and this includes around the genital area, under arms and in the folds of skin behind the knees and elbows. If you really want to ensure that you don’t suffer a yeast infection in the future make sure that you wear cotton clothing and that each item of clothing you wear fits loosely.

Cause 3 – Sweet & Sugary Feeds

Again it is important that you avoid any kinds of foods including chocolates, cakes and pastries as they all contain high levels of sugar or sweeteners in them. These foods will help again to create an environment within the body that allows the fungus to thrive and is what causes yeast infection to occur.

Cause 4 – Unhealthy Love Making

There are certain lubricants and toys which couples can use to enhance their love making but which can provide the kind of atmosphere that is conducive to the growth of yeast fungus. Also any couple where one partner has already been diagnosed with suffering from a yeast infection should immediately refrain from any form of sexual activity until the infection has been treated and cured. If they don’t then the risk is much higher to the other partner in the relationship being able to contract what causes yeast infection as well.
